i just mounted up a set of brand new 2CT's and after getting them balanced out the best i could, i spun the wheel on the balancer pretty fast and saw it was really really out of round.
as you can see the wheel is straight and true.. but the tire has a huge wobble. its fully inflated, and balanced.. but is this normal?

some tire wheel combinations do this. I have seen it a few times. I have seen positive results by lowering the tire pressure a little and riding it, then re-balancing it. I you do not want to do that, thn I would reccomend that you deflate the tire and break the bead, then spin the tire on the rim a couple times and then re-seat the bead. Do this until you have preferrable results. It may be a PITA but it is the only way that you are going to get them to center.

ok.. makes sence.. i mean, the 2 beads popped when i aired it up, and balanced out ok.. so im thinking the tire is just off. it wasn't heavy on one side or another, it only took .75 oz's of weight..
i'll break the bead again, and spin it.. seat it again, and see whats up. after that, i'll think about contacting the distributor, and try and explain my situation. i really don't want to ride this tire with highspots. doens't seam safe.

sean.. i hate you.
ok... so i have great news!
i busted the tire down again. didn't remove it, but just lubed the hell out of it with dish soap and water. REMOVED the valve core, and blasted air all the way to 60PSI to set the bead. then deflated the tire, and then installed the core and aired it up to the proper 42 PSI. now everything is sweet. so it was all an issue with lubrication and enough pressure to set the bead.
so if you plan on doing your own tires, its prolly a good idea to OVER INFLATE the tire just to set the bead. and then you can set the proper air pressure after.
anyways.. just thought you guys would find it interesting. it wasn't the tire, it wasnt the wheel, it was lubrication, and enough air to set the bead.
