anyone here go to maryland track? .. cecil or capital
i live in maryland, and ive only been to cecil county dragway often, ive been hearing alot of people say that capital raceway's track is alot sticker, and easier to catch traction on, an all around its just a better track then cecil county, BUT that it gets soo busy, ur lucky if u get more then 2 or 3 runs in.. i was wondering if capital really that much better then a track? .. an is it really that much busier then cecil couty? .. thank
HAAAHAHHAHAH Thats pretty funny.....
If you can go fast at Capitol you can go fast ANYWHERE.
Cecil is a VERY good track. One of the best hooking tracks on the East coast. I would say that Cecil = MIR.
Maybe you are going on some off nights or something? Cecil is a better track period.
Capitol and Cecil both get busy at times. If you want to make a bunch of passes at Capitol get there EARLY. I went to Capitol last night and there was 10 cars total, but it was suppose to rain.

I agree the times I've been down to Capitol it's been pretty poor prep. Cecil on Wed nights have been pretty empty and there are a lot of quicker cars running then vs Friday night. Traction hasn't been a problem, Fridays do get slick though if there are a ton of people and most of them are street cars. Last time I was there on a Wed I got 12 passes between 6-9pm and I sat it out for almost an hour to cool it down after the first 5 passes.
Everything I've ever driven has always been faster at Cecil by 2-3 tenths from fast to slow cars. I still go to Capitol simply because it's so much closer but I would run at Cecil over Capitol anyday.

sorry man i wouldnt go that far.
as far as track prep and clearing oil downs, bring lotsa beer.
the guy at cecil has told me as well as friends that hed rather sel burgers than make money off of the track.
BUT saturday tnt's are great. i havent had my civic at cecil yet, but many years with the t type, and it hooked great. it is relatively close to sea level, so the atmosphere is there.
my fear with the county, is people casing your car. and i do mean people following you home.
forget friday nights, 2 maybe 3 runs if you are lucky with no oil downs.
if you want to run cecil, saturday test and tunes are the way to go.
cecil is 30 mins from me and i would drive the 2.5 hours to go to mir over cecil any day.
but again thats just my oppinion.

Have never been to Capitol, but go to Cecil and Mason-Dixon every so often. Cecil is anywhere from .3 - .5 sec quicker than any other track I've raced on (been to MIR but never raced).

yea ill prolly just stick to cecil then since it only takes me like 20 mins or so to get there give or take i guess.. i mean i went only like twice this year an it was early in the season an still a little cold with no bikes yet an i got a big stack of time slips like 10 runs.. but i got tires that hook better on the street now so when i get the time, an money to spare for a track day imma go in the crx again.. ive prolly seen you guys there before then lol.. watch out for the slow white crx, next time i guess.. got si wheel's. 5% tint, eat sleep honda stick, i love cops sticker, and street tires.. mostly run no time.. even tho i dont do good lol
Unless Outlaw 10.5 and Pro Mods and cars of that sort show up there, Capitol earns it's nickname.....CRAPITOL. The track prep is never good enough to compare to Budd's Creek or even Cecil. Cecil is terrible on Friday nights, so-so on Wednesdays, and pretty good on Saturdays. Budd's Creek seems to be good all the time, although I don't go there unless it's a special event or a track rental just because it's further away (2.5 hours) than Cecil (15 minutes).
