if you reuse the glass it will be just as heavy as it was.

well since i don't want to use lexan or something of that nature then i guess that rules out the hatch...but if i were to get it and use the stock glass would i still be able to use the stock latch

Really? What is the weight of a non CF stock hatch and what is the weight of a CF hatch? I find your statement to be really...surprising. I don't know the weights of either though so I can't make any statements like yours. I'd imagine that CF would be lighter than the metal a stock hatch is made out of.

well i guess the only one that would make a difference would be the tunnel style for the CRX...since i was going for function instead of form i guess i'll save my $$$ since it won't make a difference in weight and i don't want a lexan window

The difference is very small. The majority of the weight in the hatch is the glass.

This is ignoring the fact that the CRX ones have a hole for the wiper (unless they changed them). The wiper motor/assembly would weigh more than any weight savings so you'd be better off just finding an HF hatch.

Id imagine that tunnel style one, although also being ugly would really hurt your mpg's, the tunnel style seen on mr2's and what not aren't exactly the most aerodynamic forms.
