Default Blow by (built engine)

I installed a new built engine with forged pistons. after 100 miles of driving I'm getting alot of blowby. I tried to break the engine in properly (loding the engine with good afr) but Im still causing the small catchtank to fill up with fresh oil everytime I boost. How long do rings take to seat in?

Have I glazed/damaged the rings or are they still wearing in? Havent been able to measure leakdown numbers yet but compression is good.

je pistons with je rings, done a leakdown test with some home made gauge but couldnt get the readings, there was minor pressure loss as I could vaguely hear it coming out of the breather. I been keeping an eye on egt also, 700-900F, idle 14-15afr and boost 11-12 afr. Will give it time hopefully will bed in but its not looking promissing.

The funny thing is when first started the motor first 10 miles there was no breathing from the block at all.

how much oil are you getting in the catchcan? my motor has perfect compression and around 10% leakdown and ill still fill a shotglass or 2 worth of oil every time i drive the car hard for a while

you have block fittings dont you. what your experiencing is not blowby its a poorly designed catch can set up. blowby is a gasoline looking liquid, it doesnt even resemble oil.

You should have the breather lines, coming off your valve cover not the back of the block.

why? technically you should have both..... If this guy was running a proper drainback this thread wouldnt even exist because he would have no oil in his catchcan.

I was running a moroso can with the line just off the back of the block. After one run at the track my whole engine bay was covered in oil. This happened because, of the acceleration of the car and all the oil in the motor moves to the back fills up the lines then the tank, and sprays out of the breather. I had the drain back hooked up and everything. Once i got the T1 catch can with 4 lines on the valve cover and two on the back of the block as drain back. Never had problems ever since.
