Default *Vote* - What Axle Brand to Buy?

So my driver's side front CV boot is ripped and I am looking to replace the axle...Car is not over 200hp and probably will never be...right now it's probably sitting around 155hp with energry suspension motor mount inserts, lowered 1.3 inches, omnipower rear lower control arms, and rear lower tie bar...
Based on my setup, what should I buy that's best bang for the buck? i want reliability

Also, can having the car lowered 1.3 inches, without a camber kit, cause the axle to sit at a wrong axle, causing the boot to rip?

at 155hp u shouldnt be braking axles out of brute force so i say go with autozone, kragens etc..... with the lifetime warrant and save yourself some money. .

I voted for autozone because they pretty much have a no hassle 2 year warrenty, so if you ever do have a problem, you can always take the axles back.

Autozone Lifetime Replacement Axles

I have a set in my GSR. They lasted 2 years at 315whp and soon enough they're going to be beaten on daily at around 450whp. I dont expect problems so i dont know why they woudln't work for you..

I had my oem axle's rebuilt for $18 each
completed on the same day, so no down time

As far as a full replacement we install the autopart store's brand at our shop with no problem or complaints. Just make sure it comes with waranty, which they usualy do.

auto parts store if they give you a full warranty, but then its kind of annoying going back and forth and changing axles. I think the oem ones are strong as crap though.

OEM are more reliable and less prone to breakage than you Autozone, PepBoys, NAPA axles, if you can find a nice set get them.

I wouldnt look into a performance axle unless you are breaking your current axles, money could be better spent elsewhere.

If you go to Autozone or Napa, get the new axles, not the reman. That's what I did on my ITR. No problems with several auto-x events.

The problem with raxles and other internet parts stores is when they break, you got tons of downtime (shipping unit in, waiting for a new one). Local shops = back on the road the same day.

cool thanks guys for the help...i ended up buying an autozone one for $60 with lifetime warranty and ride with it...it's very easy for me to change the axle so if it breaks frequently i'll chalk it up and buy an oem one...
life is risk

90-93 Integra lowered - 2-3 finger gap
94-01 Integra lowered - 1-2 finger gap

Add camber kits to the rear and proper alignment for the entire car. You shouldn't be breaking any type of axles. If you are pass those gap then ya there is a possiblity of breaking axles.

yea the wheel isn't inside the fender well so i guess it will be ok-i figured the axle that broke was 11-12 years old so it was probably worn out

Autozone ones are pretty good. Some autoparts like napa i think can rebuild your axle for cheap also so thats ok to. Most likely theres an autozone around you so i would go with that since they usually come with warranties also.
