Driver of the Alpha

Andrew Parker's body sat inside the car. A few feet away, 19-year-old Blaise Meadows lay, bleeding and badly injured.
Minutes earlier the night of April 25, officials say, the motorcyclist on the dark bike and Meadows had been racing their motorcycles down the 241 toll road in Lake Forest at speeds exceeding 100 mph. Authorities belive Parker was rear-ended by Meadows just north of Portola Parkway, causing Parker, 46, to lose control of the car. Propelled by the impact, the car flipped several times before crashing into a pole and landing on its roof.
"He was invincible, he was indestructible," said Mary Ann Parker, describing her husband of more than 20 years. "You couldn't hurt him. I think the violent crash, the way he died, I think that was the only way it could have killed him."
Witnesses reported that after looking inside the car, the rider on the dark bike was yelling back and forth with Meadows, who was on the pavement. Then he drove away.
Authorities are now reaching out to the public and hoping someone may have information about the crash and the identity of the rider on the dark bike.
Meadows, who is recovering from his injuries, is being treated at Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, said California Highway Patrol officer Eric Barnard. Officials expect to take him into custody.
Parker was declared dead at the scene.
Officers suspect that Meadows and the rider who fled the scene knew each other, and might have been involved in similar races before, Barnard said.
According to court records, Meadows had been cited for speeding four times from November 2005 to June 2007.
Andrew Parker was headed to his Santa Ana business that night, said Mary Ann Parker. He was driving a 1974 Alfa Romeo that once belonged to his father. As a teenager, Parker would sneak away with the car, pushing the car along the street and popping the clutch to start it.
Mary Ann Parker, of Trabuco Canyon, said her husband rarely took the classic car to work, but he decided drive it at the last minute.
"He normally didn't take the toll road and he didn't take the Alfa," she said. "I don't know why this had to happen."
Parker described her husband as a cheerful man who started his own machine-shop business when he was 23.
"He had this infectious grin," she said. "He made you laugh even when you wanted to punch him in the nose."
The two met through work. The same day they met, they went out on their first date to a drive-in movie in San Juan Capistrano.
"We just fit perfectly together," Parker said.
Now she and her 17-year-old son are trying to adjust to life without a father and a husband, she said.
"My heart is so broken," she said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact officer Eric Barnard or J. Stapleton at 949-487-4000. </TD></TR></TABLE>

Damn that sucks. RIP and my condolences to the family. It sucks when innocent people get killed.
Incredible that the rider is still alive.

BTW, don't toll roads usually have cameras and whatnot? Hopefully they find the other 1/2 of the party who is responsible..

The biker who fled is a little bitch I hope they find that ******* and charge them both with the vehicular homicide charge that they deserve nothing enrages me more than people leaving the scene you are man enough to break the law and act reckless so be man enough to own up to your actions instead of leaving and having others get to suffer for your stupidity. RIP to an innocent victim of retards.

Street racing *sigh* gives us all a bad name, not to mention the effect it has on the innocent. same thing happened in my city where a guy was flying down a residential street at 80 MPH and hit a woman coming out of a backlane square in the driver side door. I understand that is of course fun to speed and be dangerous but that doesnt mean it isn't idiotic.

seriously, that logic has always pissed me off. and its an ideology that 95% of riders carry
just like the guys (some on here) who bomb twisties and pass on solid lines, you could easily spook someone in the other direction and cause an accident
