Ok here we go again, I am not trying to be an *** because years ago I was in the same boat. I even imported a complete RHD clip and helped on a RHD CRX conv......However, Many people think that a RHD conversion will make your car JDM!!!! but really it will still be a usdm car no matter how hard you try. You might impress someone until you tell them that it's a conversion and then it's just kinda ohwell. Or you could lie and say it's real but that will make you a POSER LIAR and the real OG's will pick it apart (myself included) and make you look like a fool .

RHD's are not the most practical or safe thing for a LHD world, sure they are cool but not when they are faked.
If you pay a shop to do it, it will cost you and arm and a leg.

All of that being said, here is what you would need LOL
a complete RHD front clip
firewall
dash,engine harness
cluster
Rear crossmember
RHD steering rack
All of your brake hardline need to be redone
All of your fuel hardlines need to be redone
RHD wipers LOL
ect....

Now comes a lot of cutting, drilling, hacking and welding.
UH OH...your gas tank popper and rear hatch are still on the LH side along with your antenna.
What is all boils down to is if you plan on doing the conversion right, it will cost twice as much as if you just bought a real RHD

Sure as hell not worth it imo. If your really spent on a rhd, come to Canada, we have loads of them here with with very low mileage. For the money and time, that would be the easiest option.
Here's pic of a GTR Celica i picked up last year

An EF9 is already RHD, so why would you need a conversion?

No such thing as an '88 SiR either . . .

what the hell are you babbling about. he's asking for help. not your rambling of why he shouldnt do it. keep that crap to yourself and provide some help. also the gas door and antenna are on the same side as a usdm chassis. there is no difference

- fuel lines don't need to be re done.
- brake lines don't have to be re done but they can be.
-when you get a rhd front clip it comes with all the parts you need. so it's not like you gotta source a steering rack or sub frame or even a dash.

contact n1concepts.com for a rhd clip

or pm me with questions regarding the conversion/check out my rhd conversion thread.

dont do it! waist of money and time! just get the real thing and be with the in crowd and not the wannabes/monkey see monkey do's. you can easily get a rhd crx for 45hunned, time, labor, and cost will be hella lot more then the real thing! so why go that way? im sure if you sell your current car and meet the propper connects on here, im sure you cant get a hold of the real deal!

I actually think the converted ones are just as good as the real ones. And at least with a converted one, there is no question of the car's legality.

Buying a real rhd honda is easier(and more expensive), but it isn't a better car than a converted one.

ummm, no

Cost will actually vary on where you live, they do not always cost more. Are converted ones just as good, not usually! Many rhd imports have original 30-60 thousand miles on them, go luck finding local EF's with that mileage and no rust!!!! How is a converted one better?

on my ed8 i only did the front body conversion not the whole RHD thing, for one main reason: im right handed and it might be a bit hard to get used to for me.

Be it ive done it while teaching my sister to drive, while she got used to the clutch i would shift gears for her.

As far as doing the whole conversion, one day i might but who knows. for me its not about "i want to be like everyone else," but more that everything on my car (minus alarm install) has been done by my hands. its sort of a pride thing if you will. im not one of those people who buy their cars from shops already done up. i met a guy who claimed his car was a rear SiR untill you looked at small items like the antenna and what not. and he said he needed help with his fog lights because they werent working. so while doing LoidBanks power windows i asked "how did you wire them up? is it an oem harness?" and he replied "idk."

So in conclusions i enjoy everything i have been with and done to my crx, and its purely for my enjoyment and not anyone else. So to the OP do what you want with your car, for yourself. not to impress anyone else

$7000-8000 USD is absolutely correct. Mint and complete, registered or unregistered here in California and across our country of the US. People here in the US, or real EF enthusiasts will pay a pretty dollar for these rare cars no problem. And it is about that same price to import/export one yourself that you pick from Japan shipped to the US etc.

I dont know what kind of "clean, mint, complete" Ef9's your looking at. But $4000 USD is for a possibly crashed, swapped, molested, track driven, high km ef9. or about 4-5k for a clean complete shell.

To OP go for the conversion. Ive seen many clean *** hatchs converted. find some ppl that can hook it up for a good price here on HT ftw

Front clips contact JDMspeedworx or N1Concepts
