Burning oil, fix it or swap it?
I have a 94 sedan that is burning oil pretty bad, but I get great gas mileage, 36mpg! Wondering if it would be worth fixing it if that meant tearing it apart and replacing the rings. Or should I just swap the motor? I can get a D16Z6 for around 250 bux. What kind of gas mileage will that get?
I'll bump this for you!!
My car is doing the same thing. gets 33mpg, and is losing oil rather rapidly. I don't see smoke from the tail pipe, nor do I see puddles at the parking spots. I replaced my PCV valve for a new one a month ago. I'm not sure where the oil is going quite frankly. It uses about a quart a week which is a lot I think. it has 183,000 miles on it.
I just bought a EVAP purge control valve off of ebay since I got a code 0441 a few times. not sure if the two are related or not. Oh and I bought a brand new Honda OEM gas cap just to make sure that's not the problem.
anyways, BUMP.
