First, I want to thanks you guys for the help on my cam/springs question. It really helped me decide to steer clear of that buy for now. I did, however, pick up a Blox intake and DC sport exhaust manifold. The head's off the car and the valves aren't bent The head looks perfect, no build up and it's very gold-colored. Should I have it cleaned? Also, my friend suggested I get a mild port done because of the increased flow from the intake/exhaust. Will the gain be worth it?

Thanks for the help guys. I'm trying to keep the head local as it's my only car at the moment. I've talked to several shops around here but they say that they don't do porting on non-Vtec B series heads. It has something to do with them being too thin. Does this sound like a valid reason or are they bs'ing me?
