turboed h23 with a problem
Hi all. I have a 92 h23 prelude turbo with an issue. I blew the head gasket and since then it has been fixed. Put new head gasket in and did a compression test and came accross 180, 180, 120, 180. We did a leak down test and air was blowing by the #3 rings. Pulled the engine back out and the rings were compressed around the piston. Looked like there was some build up in the ringland area. These are Arias turbo pistons by the way with a darton sleeved block. Cleaned the ringlands out and put new rings on it. Put the engine back together after rehone and new rod bearings. Did a compression test again and 180,180,150,180 again #3 cylinder. Did a leak down test and its leaking passed the spark plug hole. I mean blowing air just straight back up. I put some silicone around the bottom of my compression tester and it jumped right up to 180 on # 3 cylinder. Has anyone else had this happen to them or am I missing something here. Pulled the head back off and the threads look fine. Thinking of having an insert put in just want to now what anyone else thinks.
Thanks Pat.
Thanks Pat.
