obviously its turns the balancer shafts. it helps balance the motor (crank) smoother feeling idle and "longer engine life" some say. i remove mine completely no problems as long as you get the crank balanced w/ out them.

Did you get your crank rebalanced? You do not have to do that. You will feel more vibration in the gas pedal.

Just take your balancer belt off you will end up with a little more whp anyway. The only adverse effect from it is you have more engine vibration thats all. I have had mine off for 6 months with no problems.

I left mine off this winter when doing my timing belt change and have had no issues with it. I dont even really notice more vibration tbh.

been running without mine for 2.5 years, no problems. motor was recently apart so i checked the mains for the hell of it, they looked brand new..didnt measure anything tho

my feet vibrate a little more without the belt, otherwise i cant tell the difference.

Guys he's not asking what they do.

The belt melted on the tensioner because the tensioner froze. You need a new tensioner and belt, or just leave the belt off.

Who in the world told you you need to do anything to the crank??? You do not need to balance anything....take the belt off, put it back, whatever you want and it does not affect the crank.

So let me get this straight, when I do my timing belt later this week I can just leave the balancer belt off? No need for the Kaizenspeed balancer shaft eliminator kit? Sounds good to me!

Yes, but you just don't loose the weight or gain the extra oil pressure from using the kit. And the cleaner engine bay of using the kit matters to me, but not everyone

hmmm, interesting...Is it at all possible to install the kit with it in the car? IIRC there are plugs that need to be pressed in, correct? Might as well do it all at once, it's not fun doing t-belts lol. I'm not pulling the motor just for this though, if I cant install the kit with the motor in the car then I'll just leave off the belt

sorry for the thread jack lol

Yeah, you pretty much have to take the engine apart to do it right...

Ah crap, oh well. I'll just keep the belt off then, and do the kit when the motor is out getting built later on. 3hp 2tq gain across the board from removing just the belt. Archived search FTW! lol

the only reason its on there is for NVH, Noise Vibration, and Harshness. It is purely for passenger compartment comfort to reduce the engine vibration.

Have you not seen the millions of threads that cover this? It is for NVH just like cliniCRX just said. Honda put them there for comfort.
