must been one smart cop to know it was a swap damn JDMpigs BUT if your motor is the same year as your car or newer you are fine you just can't have a motor older then your car is

that is the law near me

well it all depends. what motor was in your car? since you have to reff now, assuming you have a legit swap your car will be BAR'ed with your new motor. i know i got pulled over 2 months ago for being too low, cop poped my hood and he saw my LS/V once i pointed out my reff/BAR sticker he gave me a fix it for the height. believe me, once your reffed you will be happier driving your car.

Just curious...

I'm a Zonie, so I don't have to worry about harassment around here, but...

My CiViC HX was built in Monterey Park. The B16A2 swap was professionally done and Ref/BAR'ed in Alhambra.

The thing is, I'm running on HX rims (4.7" high) and my ride has been slammed (4.5" high).

From what I understand, I'm technically too low and would get a "fix-it" ticket if I drove my car into Cali and got caught...

Have I got that right?

If you just plug in the USDM ecu you will throw two codes that I know of
-Damaged/missing Crankshaft Fluctuation Sensor
-VTEC system malfunction.

CANNOT pass with CELs illuminated by me. You must add the CFS and i'm not sure about the VTEC problem. This was my dilemma when dealing with the Illinois EPA. I had a the motor in my sig, and found a very rare USDM Del Sol ecu and plugged it in to no avail. Not to mention the 7000 rpm rev limit, and total lack of power.

Not a solution, but hope the info helps.

yeah I know.. u have to buy a crank position sensor or crank fluctation sensor that goes to your oil pump? and you need to replace the vtec solenoid with a usdm one or get a vtec oil pressure sensor.. hrmm. .I really wanna try and get it bar'd and then after I get that sticker I can modify it until its time for smog again..
