98 Honda Civic HX
Hmm...
I put 178,000 miles on a 2000 HX and never had a single problem with the tranny - always shifted like the day I bought it.
Then again, I ran Redline MT-90 tranny fluid from day one...
Anyway, there's nothing inherently evil about them AFAIK!

I know you won't believe this but...
I actually got 62 MPG on an HX - one time...
I got 50+ MPG probably 10 times...
On average, 44-48 MPG...
Lowest mileage I ever got was 38 MPG - one time - when I was burning in some pads.
Anyway, HX motors are basically DX blocks with a Star Trek head!
They got the biggest valves of any D-series motor, and a roller cam.
The tranny is what kills the performance NOT the engine!
Personally, I'd stick an EX tranny on it and call it a day...
Lates!
