Default suspension help..

i have a stock 96 dx hatch and when i get my stimulis check i plan on lowering it finally. but heres the dilema.. im very new to full suspension set ups(struts, sway bars, lca's, uca's, end links) when i hear talk about them im lost. so i was considering out of the sake of saving a few bucks if it would be equall or more benificial to buy a complete coil over or just some kyb struts with lowering springs. please help i wanna have this planned out for the purchase. thanx!

edit: im not looking to auto x or anything, just want "the goods" and be able occasionally out handle the homies.

if ur not gonna ralley the car just buy some struts and spring on the cheap end buy kyb gr2 with some nice springs like skunk2 or some skunk 2 coilovers or for more buy some ksport fully adjustable but the problem ur gonna have is the rear lower control arms "lca"more then likely the bolt is gonna be seized so i would spray both of those bolts with pb blaster a day before install or the worse case ur goona have 2 buy some lca
