prelude brakes on DA question
i have a 90 DA and read an article in honda tuning about using prelude rotors and legend calipers as a poor mans type-r brake swap...... does anyone know the year and model rotors from a prelude and the year of legend? i thought it was 94 prelude but cant remember! THANKS
there's a tread on here somewhere. but yeah you gotta get prelude vtec rotors 92-96 and get them re drilled to 4x100. fast brakes sells rotors that are the same size and are 4x100.
that thread isnt right...... i think it was a 94 prelude that already uses the 4x100 bolt pattern.... and it was legend rotors that were a direct fit...... ithey even said something about using NSX rotors in the place of the legend ones... if anyone has the issue of honda tuning im talking about i would appreciate the info
yes this is the poor man's upgrade... but its a factory upgrade
. you could get the single piston caliper(accord v6, accord wagon, regular legend), i dont remember the size... or you could get the dual piston of a legend GS coupe brakes of a '94 i believe... and yes its worth it, stopping power is increased much. my da is a rs non-abs, and it seems to me that the brake are harder to lock now
some sites tell you do modify (shave) the caliper but you could use ( I did) a 1/16 or 1.5mm spacers between the spindle and the rotor... in my opinion i think its better than to change the integrity of the caliper...
on da's the brake master cylinder is a 15/16 and the type-r is 16/16, i dont believe it is worth it... but its up to you...
and you could do the same for the rear brakes... these rotors and calipers are much easier to find...

Wrong. They're 4x114.3
