i have a del dol i put a gsr in it and it started making a loud knocking noise so i redid my valves checked bottom end and was all good so i played with it for 2 more days and pulled it out and put a new built gsr in it and used no parts off the old gsr and the it is knocking i changed the ecu many times new wire harn new injectors about 3 times the sound is like there is a bolt in the head or like you hit the head with a hammer im lost please help

 

describe what a "built" motor is.

 

did u adjust the valve lash? check your lost motion assemblies? and if you dont know what im talkin about then please bite the bullet and take it to a professional

 

yeah i chked them on bouth motors and also i have redone the valves on bouth motors

 

i have wiseco pistons and rods 5 angel valve job on a b16 head with itr cams golden eag intake

so you took out the knocking motor, and put a TOTALLY different motor in it? like different block and different head? and it is STILL knockin?

idno what to tell u in that case. i mean if u used a COMPLETELY different engine, and still had the same noise. then i guess its not the engine.

 

is the knock slow or quick? is it like knock knock at idle or is it gone at idle and then when you gas it does it dramatically increase its speed? sounds like to me that you have the cam oiler caps installed incorrectly and the cams are galling into the head.
and if you dont know what that means... take the car in before you lose your investment

it only knocks at idle on this motor and on the stock gsr it knockes at around 3500rpm i think im going to swap it again

that doesnt tell me anything man. Do you realize how many different configurations of cranks, rods, pistons and cams that you could possibly put into a B series?

there is no way we can help you unless you give us the information we need to help you.

what is the compression of the motor?
what are the bearing clearances?
what is the piston to wall clearance? if known...

 

Is your knock sensor working?

i once thought my motor was knocking, but i found out it was the belt tensioner making a noise at idle and above 3k rpm...made me **** bricks..
