Well guys i have a 00 si ls/vtec and i need to pass NC inspection but my car is misfiring wich is codes 71,72,73. Well i just bought a brand new dizzy and new injector seals and the ckf sensor changed fuel filter, and sparkplug wires and plugs. At idle it makes this little popping noise which comes from the intake, the motor only misfires at idle from what i can tell. I need help please

 

Is it hunting for the idle?

You might have a overly lean condition at idle which is causing a lean misfire.

Have you tried to retard the ignition?
Or even try and turn up the idle screw and move it to a higher rpm.

Misfiring code 71,72 and 73 is misfiring on 1,2 and 3.

Have you done a compression check?

The idle is not hunting and i have not retarded timing but i did raise idle and my compression id good, its making a weird noise through the intake though, which sort of sounds like you can hear it misfire through the intake... ? Im going to replace map sensor and injectors and try a valve adjustment 2 see if that helps???

Do you have the spark plug wires going from the right terminal on the distributor to the correct cylinder..
