Another problem with my clutch
So I've recently had my clutch master and slave cylinders replaced on my CD5.After driving around for a couple of days after the slave was done (it was replaced about 4 days after the master),it seems like the trans is slipping.
First of all,the clutch pedal itself seems to a little high. What I mean is that the point of engagement is very high and I barely have to push the pedal in very far for the clutch to engage and shift gears.I though that it was kinda cool at first, but as the days are going by,I'm beginning to notice that when I rev the motor kinda high,it takes off like I still have my foot half way on the clutch. It's like it's not grabbing the gears like it should, another way to put it is that I'm pretty sure that I can't get up enough torque(not like my car has a lot of torque anyway, but you know what I'm saying)to chirp the tires.
The clutch itself is fairly new with about 10k miles on it and the master and slave cylinders are brand new.I have never had problems with the trans itself until I had the slave cylinder replaced.Could it just be a faulty part with a problem that tends to happen to people on occasion,or should I be worried about a more serious problem?
Please, any useful feed back would be helpful.Thanks.

me thinks you *may* have a bent fork. This would cause the clutch to be partially engaged even with the pedal pushed all the way in.
Another likely option would be that there's air in the system, but your comment is a little unclear.
And lets clarify...what do you mean by "the point of engagement is very high and I barely have to push the pedal in very far for the clutch to engage and shift gears." The clutch DISENGAGES when you press in the pedal. I'm assuming you mean there isn't much play in the pedal and you barely press the pedal and it has resistance and starts to disengage. A properly adjusted pedal IMO should have some play and engage (you should feel the pressure plate) about 1/3 the way down and it should be fully disengaged close to the floor. I prefer to have it engage just as I let the pedal up (called "dropping the clutch"...which is a little counter-intuitive).
I don't think its the clutch. If the clutch was worn you could shift easily and the car wouldn't want to move from a stop. Your problem is that the clutch is still engaged.
Good luck!

Just to clarify, there was no free play at the top of the pedal so I barely had to push it in to shift gears.I prefer it where the release point(I guess that's what it technically is) is about half half way into applying the pedal.
I did have the clutch pedal adjusted yesterday and it's a little on the low side (release point more towards the bottom)and now I don't have the same gear slipping problem as before.I'll get it readjusted again on Monday but it seems like everything just might be O.K.(knocking on wood).
Thanks for the info.
