Default Registering vehicle in California

First off, I dont think any other forum would be able to help me more than this ITR forum. So that is why I choose to post here, than any other place.

Secondly, I dont own an ITR but I do own a 00' JDM B20b (From racing tips to JDM questions ask Type-R owners here). Here are some stats on my car:

1) JDM DC 4-1 (I know this one is illegal)
2) Carsound Cat, Stock exhaust
3) No smog canister (evaporator canister?)

This is a HUGE dilemna for me right now so I need constructive critisizm on this subject. So, what are the chances of me passing registration?

Thank you for understanding,

--Migs

I may be wrong but with your mods I don't think you'll pass the smog inspection itself. The visual inspection you should be good!

With an engine swap, to legally get a smog, you have to go to the state referee. And then with a JDM motor, it may be even more dificult. Your best bet is for an illegal smog. As said above it'll cost you 'round 200. Getting a legal JDM motor in a USDM car is a huge pain, cause of all the aditional smog requirements that Cali puts on motors. Plus the motor must be newer than the car. Basically it's just not a lot of fun.
