don't think 98+ have the lever inside at all. you can only open them from the back

98+ dont have a latch in the car...

car must be unlocked and you can unlatch the trunk where the handle is on the trunk

my 97 has the latch in the car but my friends 00 doesnt

I disagree, I think it should be a button! The lever is little gay too!

i have an 00 teg and there isnt a latch inside, just a lever under the handle of the trunk that you have to slide left then lift up on the trunk to open it... make sure its unlocked first

Ya there is a latch in the rear. Much better than the lever inside the car IMO. Just unlock and slide.

I'd much rather have the latch on the inside of my 2000 teg because the lever on the back of the car doesn't work. Those lever's don't work on most of the tegs i have seen.

Yes, I would have loved for it to be a button, but we get what we get

Your releasing the hatch is tied in with your power door locks. There is a lever above the rear bumper just above the key hole little to the left. If the hatch does not release while the door lock is unlock you have a problem with the motor in the rear. Mine went bad and did not bother on replacing been 3 years now.

haha what are you talking about? There IS a latch on the 98-01 integras, its just that its right under where you put your hand to actually open the trunk. This way you only have to move your hand 1/4 inch instead of 2 feet (not to mention if you forgot to pop the hatch from inside, then you have to go all the way back around lol)
