Default S1 B16a tranny (cable) spool in a 92-93 GSR tranny (cable)???????????

Hey, from what I understand the 92-93 GSR cable tranny (YS1) is the only cable tranny that uses the same internals as the hydro B16 tranny's.

I have a spool that was ordered for an LS or B16a cable tranny from Richmond. However, I plan on getting the cable GSR tranny. Will the spool fit this particular GSR tranny?

Please let me know.

If the spool is for a cable s80/y1 or jdm s80 it will not fit the bigger differential ring gear. I beleive majority of the small spline cable trannies all use similiar parts like the usdm 1990-91 acura integra ls tranny

^^^^^ I'm confused.

Just in case I explained it wrong:

The spool I have is for either the B18A1 cable tranny, or it is for the S1/J1 B16a JDM cable tranny.

I want to replace my grinding S1 tranny with a USDM YS1 tranny from a 92-93 GSR integra. However, I don't know if I can still use the spool I already have.

You would be wrong. Smaller shaft cables (90-91) do not use hydro sets. 92-93 can use hydro sets.

Diffs are a differnt thing

If you're refering to gearsets, then we're talking about two different things. I'm refering to spools.

So can I use my spool?

I never installed one, so I can not give you a 100% answer, but I would imgane it would. Clearance problems with the LSDs can be solved by shaving the case.

The main thing that scares me is that exospeed sells a spool for both the b16a/ls and they sell one for the B18c/gsr. However, does this gsr include the 92-93 gsr?

Crazy **** man. Honda's ftw. LOL

Oh yeah. I found out what I needed to know. Yep, you guys were right. The one that would be different would be the 94+ GSR tranny. The rest of them are pretty much compatible with one another as far as the spool goes.

Thanks for all of the replies.
