Do the springs/retainers need to be upgraded too?

I've got a B18B from a 96 Integra in my Del Sol. Several days ago it jumped timing by three teeth and bent a few valves. I'm going to have the valves replaced because the head seems perfect otherwise. Anyway, what I'm getting at is this: I plan on buying the Crower 402s with adjustable cam gears. I don't want to buy springs and retainers unless I have too. Do you guys, who know far more about this then me, think that's safe?

You're supposed to tell me what I want to hear. Something along the lines of "You'll be fine....no need for springs.."
Thanks for the help, I'll start looking around for springs now.

well, i'm just telling you what i would do.
for example, take a look at the gsr owners who wants to get itr cams. it's recommended that they get the itr intake valve springs and push the gsr intake valvesprings over to the exhaust side.
but some people get away using the stock gsr valvesprings and not pushing it past the factory redline.

Crower 402's are fairly mild. You can probably get away with stock springs and retainer. I'd double check with Crower to make sure.
You may as well replace them while you're there, find some in the market-place or on Ebay that are either new or slightly used. Another advantage is, if you get new springs and retainers..you can afford to get cams that will have a little more kick to em.
