Default rear drum questions (search is down) =[

im really sorry guys..but today is the only day i got ina while tto adjust my rear brakes and the search hasnt been working for a while...its a 96 ex coupe..stock brakes.... its getting annoying having to pull the ebrake all the way up just for it to stop..i have a lil idea on how the drums work..i do the front brakes all the time my self.. do i need to remove the black cover peice and rotate the gear a certain direction to adjust the ebrake and shoes?? if so wich way?? and i will b cleaning the area up with brake cleaner...thanks..im really sorry i usualy always search..TIA

i dont exactly remember which way to turn but. just turn take off the drums and turn the star wheel so it would expand. the brakes shoes should have a bit of drag against the drums when u put it back on.

I dont know if its the same as having rear disc brakes like mines but I just take a screw and take the plastic cover off of the ebrake cable from inside.. then there are 2 cables with I believe a 10 bolt.. you just have to either tighten it or loosen it to make your e brakes tighter...

No it is not the same, for rear drums you have to adjust them at the drum. I would take the drum off and adjust them the old fashioned way, this also is good since you get to inspect them at the same time and you also get to take out the dust that collects inside.
