Default LED lights

I put in new lights in my front turn signals. They're these white LED blubs. But then i noticed that wheni signal...it signals faster than it did before. why is that? but when i put on my emergency lights it signals at normal speed. Why do the LED bulbs make them signal faster?

well, regualar lights have a dual filament i think, so they light up one for the light and one for the blink. Because you put in LED's, your electrical system is probably detecting the light portion as being out, in which case, it blinks faster.

I am pretty sure that blinkers that blink faster than a certain rate is illegal; however, the likelihood of getting pulled over for it is pretty slim. Are these bulbs going in clears? Are the bulbs white? If that's the case, then it's already illegal.

Oh about the dual filament LED, I have no clue. Where'd you get the bulbs by the way?

i think its is because leds have a higher impedence than incandescents
cars have a safety feature that makes the lights blink fast when a buld is not detected
haveing led bulbs with a high impedence makes the car think the filament is blown

i used to have some of them bulbs and they did the same

....okay, let me explain LED's. They NEVER "break".

they will outlast the lifetime of your car. Only way they "break" is if you dont follow the Ohm's law... (voltage = current x resistance).

most LED's on the market, even the brightest ones they use in traffic lights and signs, are rated at 3.6 volts DC, with a 20 amp rating.

with this in mind, a car battery is rated at 12 volts DC, which would FRY these bulbs, which would explain why your friend would just lose them after 3 weeks of use. believe me when i say LED's last much longer. theres no physical connector connecting the bulb ends like a normal conventional light bulb, its like a HID bulb, just 2 archs where the light travels across.

LED's are not rice. they are much more efficient than normal bulbs...and with todays technology, the amount of light they give out can be more than a normal light bulb. (today's standards exceed 10000 MCD)

led headlights would absolutely kick some serious ***!!!
think about it, led are so bright and since they do project in such a narrow range
you would have easy control of where the lights goes
imagine a headlight similar to the new nissan Q45.
it has 7 projector lenses, now with like 50 leds, all aimed to produce the ideal beam pattern

man screw hid, i want led!!!!
