have a 97 accord here and the starter is pulling about 200-215 amps .. now to me im thinking thats excessive ..also because with the battery at 12.6volts .. it sometimes barely has enough juice to turn the engine over if it does at all .. now when the car sits and i do an amp draw test it pulls 200-215 amps struggling the whole time .. but if i continue to do it after that..the amp draw drops to about 125-135 amps.. anyone know the specs on this ?

 

how long has this been happening? do u have subs or any big system stuff? is the engine sitting stock? cuz if u up the compression, u MIGHT (big might) need to get a bigger starter.

 

thanks for the reply .. but the car is all stock .. about 3 months ago it was happening .. battery was 7 years all so i got a new one .. new one lasted about 2 months and it happened again .. alternator is good.. nothing is being left on.. there is no power drain going except maybe like 3 amps which isnt excessive.. no system at all except a head unit .. all stock
