95 Integra GSR.. Spitting Oil?
Hey everyone,
I just recently bought a 95 Integra GSR and I noticed oil in little specs all over the bumper and the back of the car around the exhaust. Does anyone know why it does this?
Thanks is advance

you burn oil, welcome to vtec world.
Since we have motors which rev really high and switch cam profiles during vtec, our valve seals wear, and we burn oil.
thats the most common reason, there could be others though.

wouldn't burning oil just cause smoke, i had one motor where the rings went out and that one just burned a whole lot of white smoke out the muffler. then i worked on a motor with bad valves and thats when your car sounds like a subaru. i've never heard of oil actually coming out of the muffler.

My civic did this. My integra doesn't. A couple things you might want to look at or think of:
- How much oil does your car burn?
- Is your head gasket bad? Oil in the coolant. Coolant in the oil
- How do your spark plugs look? Is one of them glossy black?
Aside from preventative maintenance, I would say that there isn't anything, aside from taking off the piping from your car and pushing a rag through to clean it out that you can do to get rid of this. I don't think it's oil per-say. I think it's a mix of water and all the exaust stuff that sticks to the piping. Then when you start the car after a while it spits out the condensation from the night.
I think this is also more likely to happen with aftermarket piping because it offers less restriction for condensation to work it's way through the system.

That would be burning oil but oil can actually be left unused and still pass through the system. IE, some of it escaped without actually igniting.

Thats a little high, you might want to look into doing some refreshment on your engine.

That's HELLA high. You're burning more than a liter every 400 miles.
Way too high, your headgasket or rings are gone. Plan some time in the near future to rebuild the engine.
