Flushing Coolent
I found the drain to drain the coolent from the radiator and drained it but im having trouble finding the drain to drain it from the block. I think ive found it but it is a pain to get loose becasue i have limited space to undo the bolt. Anyone have any suggestions or anything to say that i could do differently? thanks.
You can't see the coolant drain bolt on the block (because of a "ledge" on the bottom of the block)... you can only feel it. It's a bit to the left of oil filter.
You'll need a 17mm socket and probably a shallow extension to clear the ledge. You'll know when you've got it right becuase you'll be showered with coolant (hopefully not boiling).
There really is no other way of draining the block that I know of other than those coolant circulating machines like shops use.

yeah that is whacked
I usually flush with a power flush and then with water from a garden hose and then fill with the proper coolant mixture and level

only if you do not dispose of the by product properly
where do you dispose of it?

I also couldn't get the coolant bolt on the block off, so I filled the system w/ water, ran the car til the thermostat opened and cycled coolant... drained it again from the radiator, refilled w/ water, and re-cycled it one more time before refilling w/ a near 50-50 coolant/distilled water combo.

I cant do that here because we have hard water. That stuff leaves crazy residue on the inside of pipes I would hate to see what it would do to the inside of my engine block.

before you fill up all you have to do is open the drain pipes on the block and rad and you are all set as that will remove 95% or more of any of the remaining "garden hose" water. IF you do it right you do not have to collect it as it is pure water
