where do you keep your bike? *no garage crew*
I'll be buying a bike next season and i'm a little worried about theft.
my house doesn't have a garage and I don't want it to go "missing" one day.

I bring mine in the basement. I will postup a pic tomorrow of where I bring them in and where they get stored. I am doing some "spring cleaning tomorrow" so it will give me some motivation to make it look pretty

i thought about that since i do have a basement, but wasn't sure how much of a hassle it would have been to get it in/out.

I have a side door, I just push it through.
Another friend of mine has those angled doors with stairs going down, he made a badass gripped ramp so that he could just ride the bike up and down the stairs in and out of the basement.
If there is an external door to your basement you can get your bike in there.

You east coast'ers and your basements
wild =|
Out here on the left coast, you've got to find yourself a nice sturdy weight bearing beam to anchor your bike around, or cement a lock mount onto the floor.

you would be suprised what any motorcycle is capable of. Just be sure that you have plenty of headroom. My buddy just made a ramp about 3 feet wide and curved it a little at the bottom. He put expanded metal mesh over it and called it a day. He just slowly creeps up it and slowly rolls down it when he is bringing it inside. Just make sure that you make the ramp wide enough that you can put your feet on it and stabalize yourself. I have even pulled my bike in there. He has a motorcycle lift and I go over there to change my oil whenever I can. I also used his lift to intall my engine in teh 748s a couple months ago.

I'm lucky enough to have a garage to park my bike in when I am at home, but when I am on the road I carry a small cable lock (a bicycle lock) and wrap it through both wheels so that it can't be pushed away. If there is somewhere I can wrap the lock around, like a post or pole I wrap the lock around there as well. I guess if you have an apartment, or somthing like that make sure to add at least one layer of security to it (in my case I use the lock).

I dont give a ****. It's stock, it has full coverage. Come get it. Done and tired with worrying about theft</TD></TR></TABLE>
When i had an apartment w/out the garage I felt the same way, if you want it come get it. If it is outside and the thief is determined enough he will get it anyways.

Ahhh, to be young again
</TD></TR></TABLE>Ahhh, to be young again
We have shack pretty much..lol It has about 4 big leaks in the roof so I have to park carefully..haha But its what we keep our race car in but I rather keep the bike in there...race car can sit outside, kind of harder to steal a race car..lol
currently i have a garage to park in so i really don't have to worry..
Previously i had an apt. and i never slept right...
so i spent the extra money on a pager alarm/remote start alarm. remote start def. a plus when warming up the bike on those cold mornings and not have to worry about leaving the bike unattended. a guard lock to wrap around the pole, forgot the brand, but suppose to be bullet proof. (not literally) then i'd park my tank to guard it.

yea, I'm not to sure i want to bring a bike into a newly remodeled home with new carpets and what not. besides, my girlfriend would kill me. I might try the basement, just gotta see how steep the steps are. if not i might just rent a storage space and keep it there. it will suck paying money every month though.

are you talking bout that sound of ---- --- getting put in the trunk with zip ties? the last --- that tried to steal my crx, never steal again... fahgetbout it....
if by chance they were lucky enough to get by me,
always looking for a good time. i'm a little confused what are you going to cut that thick a$$ chain/pole with that's so silent without vibration setting off the alarm, it's a "motion sensor" alarm. you get 1ft from the bike it goes off, both vehicles.. you gotta by pass the sensor alarm that pages me on both vehicles.. kay so they get past me, the lock, and both sensor alarms... now are they going to carry it 25 yards to their car? this ain't the movies... real life, real consequences.
all if's ands or buts aside, didn't happen for a reason..

I park mine in front of my car coverd with a u-lock through the wheel,
they are going to have to carry it. Oh and it has an alarm.
