carbon fiber clean up
I was wondering the best way to clean up/refresh a carbon fiber hood that has seen better days, I have tried rubbing compound, wax polish, all that good stuff and it just doesnt seem to do the job, I was thinking about wet sanding it with 2000 grit, and then repeating the steps I had already done, has anyone we sanded there CF hood before? or does anyone have any other ideas that may help me out? Thanks
yeah my buddy did that, he bought his car with a carbon fiber hood that was all oxidized and stuff, we buffed as much as we could. but it was too deep. ended up sanded it down and re-clearing it. turned out good.
just don't sand down all the way through the clear. if it's from a quality brand there should be more then one coat of clear, so you can wetsand and buff. but if not, you might need to re clear.

i don't think there's a way to fix it except for spreading some plastic bondo and painting it the same color as your car.

snaps.
Looks like I have no choice but for me to do that. Oh well, at least the hood is light.
