Most people mod the lights themselves. They usually either go to their local auto store or garage and ask them to do it (they usually also use a film kit). I've seen many people just use the lens spray, which would be cheaper. Here's a link for some of the spray, hope it helps.

Smoked tailamps are really cool, yes. I might smoke my black EG's taillamps, it's a pretty subtle mod, but i'm still undecided. Just be sure to not get any on your car, remove the light or tuck newspaper all around it (and in the creases).

Also, check to make sure it's legal, in some places they don't allow that.

You shouldn't care, really.

And no, i couldn't find any pictures (with a basic search anyways). I know i've seen one or two EK's with smoked taillamps in Madison, they looked pretty cool.

It could just not have caught on yet with EK's. I figure it beats those weird white and red aftermarket ones (the ones that looks like Skyline lights), in my personal opinion. If i find any pics, i'll post them.

And yea, that's one nice EG pic.

Too bad the taillamps go to a coupe, or else i would buy them for my hatch. That way if i didn't want them, i could just swap back my oem ones.

That would be everywhere in the United States.

Blacked out taillights on a hatch are going to look like two big black eye spots on the back of your car.

alright, 2 things.. one, As far as I know, mostly everywhere says the tail lights may not be covered, which includes smoking them. I got pulled over twice in Madison, Wi for them.

I'll look for an EK with them, but if anything, go out, get a small can of transparent black spray paint from like a hobby horse or something and paint them. Remove the tail lights. If you dont like it, go out to the store, but an SOS pad (for cleaning) and scrub it all off. I had mine done for a while, but like i said got yanked twice, so I decided I really didnt want them any longer.

I'd rather have nice clean taillights and not have to replace them after making a mistake like that.

Not a real pic, but MS Paint.

Usually, IMO, I dig lightly smoked tails like the first EG posted in this thread. But fully blacked out? Not for me.

Your point is a lot more clear if you quote the person you want to reply to and then reply AFTER that quote.
