Brembo 4-pot system, worth it?
"Might" be able to get a good deal on it.. Should I get it or just stick with the OEM single pot system? I heard OEM is plenty for the car. Is it really necessary to upgrade to a 4-pot with 12.8" rotor and 2 floating points? What's the benefit of 2 piece floating disc rotor?? Heat dissipation?
Also, what would you consider a good price? thanks.

brembo four pots will be pretty heavy. heavy=bad. probably can't fit them under stock rims (if you're so equipped). you'll have to custom build brackets etc.
bottom line, unless its a hardcore 220whp 2200lb racecar, stock with good pads and fluid should be fine.
Rob- who's Porsche friends have tried numerous times to sneak Brembo's under his CW 15s and failed.

Porsche's caliper might not perfect right for ITR without mods.. This Brembo kit I'm refering to is made specifically for ITR so fitment shouldn't be a problem as long as you have 17" wheels (per Brembo instruction). Not sure about custom brackets since this kit is made for ITR only.

You can buy the calipers seperately, they will be the EXACT same thing as the ones in the kit, fab up the brackets, and source the rotors for a helluva lot less than $2300....
Example, Brembo "Big Reds", the 993 Twin Turbo calipers, can be bought for ~$350 each. So $700+brackets+rotors= a lot less than the typical "Big Red" kit...assuming you can do a little fabrication
I dont know however how big brembos will work with the stock MC and hydraulic stuff, any input?

17" wheels on the R is a no-no.
If you want the increased pedal feel then go for the Spoon calipers.

At 5.5 pounds a caliper you are not only getting better braking, handling is noticeably better too.

das nice... what i need to know is do i need a spacer to run Spoon/Nissin calipers with 15" spoon wheels 35mm offset, and how thick as I may need extended studs
I have 2 sets 15 and 16
i know it'll clear the 16s but i run 15s for track events
anyone know?

not sure about Brembo, but I
my StopTech, esp after finally getting the chance to abuse them at the track this weekend. I've done 3 other track event prior to this weekend. All three times, the stock brakes gave me major headaches
They worked great for street and autox, but after one or two session on a road course they sucked no matter what pad/fluid combo i've used.Since StopTech is close to my work, I decided to stop in and find out more about them. Well, before I left I was scheduling time for my car to get fitted for their brakes - lol.
Randy - if the brembo are anything like the stoptechs, you'll like them
yah true about the stock brake calipers
I have to bleed them even with wilwood 570 in it
they fade no matter what
thats why I need to know about the Spoon 4 pot
I need to know if they fit, how thick a spacer if needed

For all you people that don't wanna be stunnas rolling 17" rims on your ITRs (just kidding), Brembo does offer a smaller brake kit that will fit under some 16" rims. If you go to their webstore, they have minimum dimensions you need for caliper clearance for the kit and the kit comes in either Red, black or silver calipers to boot.
The trickey thing is you have to order the regular Integra kit and swap out the hats for ones that will fit the ITR (possibly the caliper brackets too).
I havne't attempted this yet, but for any of you experimental types, I'd give Brembo a call to make sure everything works together.
For deeper pockets, Comptech has a NSX brake kit that will fit under the stock NSX 16" rims--this kit requires only a change in the hat I believe.
