I have the same tires and they make a lot of noise.

The metal piece below my lip is a Coast Metal's splitter. No clue if it helps aerodynamics, but it has sure saved my lip a bunch of times! They do make a version for the AP1.

So far, the tires don't seem much louder. But, the single titanium exhaust is probably just drowning out the noise!

Rims look great, just looks like too much tire

 

Looks like the right amount of tire to me. I was NOT going to run stock sizes on these rims, as that would have been a lot more stretch than I feel comfortable with. 225/45-17 and 255/40-17 is a very popular upgrade. If anything, I think it is just the design of the BFG's. The run wider than advertised. I have NO stretch with even the 225/45 on the 17x9. Same with the 255/40 on the 17x10.
