T04B comes in S, V, H and the super's plus the 60-1..
they're smaller than the T04 E which comes in 46, 50, 54, 57 and 60 trim.

the T04E all have the same diameter for the major wheel with the exception of the 50 trim which has the biggest major wheel diameter...(thanks to MarkC )

theoritically the 50 trim is bigger or the same as the 54 trim, since the 54 trim has a larger minor wheel and smaller major, while the 50 trim is vice versa in comparison with the 54 trim....( I like the bigger major personally)

anyhow, they're both are two different turbo's, most drag kit comes with the T3/4E 54 trim...good for spool up from 2500-4500ish rpm...at least it was on mine, I swtiched to 50 trim now..

the .54 trim pales in comparison to the .50 trim. Take a look at the compressor maps for each wheel. The .50 trim has a huge center of efficiency, and can stay in it at higher boost levels. The .54 trim is suitable for lower boost applications, such as what the drag kit was designed for. The .50 trim is quite the kick *** turbo, at 20 psi it makes 371hp on my friends SR20DET on stock cams and with a log style manifold no less! We expect this number to go well over 400hp with a set of mildly lumpier cams.

So your saying a 54 trim is worst then a 50 trim compressor? Can you put a 50 trim compressor in a .60 AR compressor housing? Or are you comparing a 50 trim in a .50 AR compressor housing? What is the optimal boost range for a 54 trim then?

not saying it's worst, but it is designed for two different boost levels....I haven;t look at the compresor maps for 54 trim lately. I'll post more later on..

I am tired now....

how do i determine what trim my turbo is ( t3/t4b ). is it stamp on the wheel or do i have to measure the wheel? i'm looking to get a remanufacture center housing with shaft and wheels and need to know the ar and trim so that it would fit my compressor and turbine housing.
thanks.
