we'll make this easy for him.

turbo>super.

turbo gives u more power up top but the bottom has turbo lag. supercharger isnt as good up top but very good bottom end. but the sc doesnt put out as much power cuz its belt driven fi

actually it can vary depending on the application. Look at a SC on a s2000. you dont gain much down low but gain ALOT after vtec engages. as for the turbo, you could have a hybrid BB turbo which allows for quick spools low end that wont run out of breath on the topside either.

No Questions asked...Turbo is the way to go for the most power. Especially with cars like hondas that have good flowing heads and carry power all the way to redline.

Oh but of course.... I agree with JchanFTW but I would never take this out for what he's got under the hood. lol Most people never make it to a full NA build, they just keep promoting NA is best yet stop at I/H/E/reflash. NA is best if you can afford a 7-10 grand build, bottom up just to come close to the power turbo makes at only 4-5.

Money is usually the limiting factor, good point. However, it always makes me so sad to see how tight the engine bay is for our cars. I'd do a full wire tuck on my car if I had a daily driver.

from my knowledge, turbo needs to have bolts-on.(im talking about for turbo bolts on.)

How about SC? does SC needs bolts-on too?

not exactly. technically a turbo system is not a a true bolt on because you don't just install the parts by simply "bolting on" them on. there are oil lines and vacumm lines that need to be ran and possibly wiring for emange or Fi/C (since FG's/FA's dont have a programable ECU yet) the only real thing left that can be bolted on in addition to the turbo system is the exhaust system. but really the exhaust is just an extension of the turbo system and not really a part of it.

if you have a supercharger then you can still have "bolt on" parts. i.e. I/H/E

It comes down to this.

Superchargers are generally easier to install because they are usually one part (assuming its a roots style). Plus its at the top of the car which is easier to get to. HOWEVER because of the way roots function they can move a ton of air, but not at high pressure ratios (boost/PSI) without making the air very hot. Therefore a roots supercharger, no matter the size will generally not be able to exceed 8-10 PSI safely without an intercooler. Anything under that and they are excellent in just about every regard. But once you add in the intercooler you are taking away from the simplicity that makes the roots so practical and affordable.

Turbo's however are far more effecient at higher boost levels. So there fore by design a turbo is better for high power where you are needing considerable boost pressure. But they are more complex and require more parts.

Its a trade off, just have to choose which you want. Turbo's are going to win for outright power, but for normal full RPM range driving superchargers have advantages.
