Default Braking Problem.... loosing pressure...

Lately my brother's car (94 GS-R) has been scary as hell to drive.... when you first start off driving the car.. it's fine... give it about 15 minutes into driving and try to brake... man, the brake pedal feels like crap... it starts to sink and you have to hella pump the pedal for it to engage.... so what's the problem here...??? I've bled the brakes numerous times.... the brake pads are fine and everything, but the pedal pressure is not there at times... I'm thinking it might be the brake booster and I don't think it's the brake cylinder because there is no leakage...and those two things to replace will be a pain...let me know what you guys think... any help will do... thanks in advance..

Check the master cylinder.

What do I need to check for though... leakage..??? There is no leakage, so I don't know what the problem is now....

Sounds like your brake booster is f@cked. Find somebody with a helms and check out page 19-15 for various tests to diagnose the problem.

Had this happen and after 3 mastercylinder changes and one booster change we discovered that is was instead a ABS accumulator and modulator . . . Not cheap. Mine was warrantied

To be honest I was stumped with the problem past the mastercyl and booster and took it to the dealer. I had SS brake lines so I had done troubleshooting and east fix things before taking it. THey didn't say a word about the brake lines and did everything under warranty. That being said I don't know exactly what they parts look like. BUt that you coudl definitely get from a manual.

I would say if you have a spare ABS pump change that and find out what the accumulator is exactly.

ITR and 94 GSR ABS systems are completely different btw. (so you can't get stuff off the parts car most likely)

I'm thinking about just changin out the ABS unit from the old GS-R to the one right now... hopefully the accumulator and modulator and in the unit.. and hopefully it is that and not the booster...... i've already taken out the ABS unit out of the old one when I was parting it out.... and to answer the question of the year of the cars.... they are both 94 GSRs.... OBDI rules... I wasn't going to get any other year of the GSR.... but the thing is that the pressure is only lost during certain times.. not all the time...
