Default Crx running lean causeing low rev limit

91 CRX SI b16 swap rebuilt the whole motor.... We drove it for over 1000 miles with no problems We thought we blew the clutch so I pulled the motor and put it back together it turned out to be a bad clutch cable. Now the motor when in gear wont rev past 5500 when the gas is floored. When I use partial throttle it will go past 5500 slowly. I have changed the dizzy with a brand new one and cap and rotor and plugs and wires. Still no luck the plugs are turing white really quick. PLEASE HELP

thats when vtec kicks in.
Im sure its stuttering and sounds like its redlining.

Check all things for vtec.
Also reset ecu by taking battery off for a minute.

Codes?... When having a problem this should be the FIRST thing you check for.

It sounds as if the problem is in the ECU either the ECU itself or something sending information to the ECU

it is a solid cel, the ecu code. but i've tried 3 different ecu's and they all didn't work in the crx but they worked in my turbo'ed eg with a d15b.
