piston pins

piston pins

Is there any way to get them out without using a hydrolic press which i do not have access to right now?

If you are taking apart stockers for the first time, you must use a press or you will either damage the piston and/or the rod.

take it to a machine shop. The possibilities of breaking the piston are high if you do it wrong.

BTW, the pins come out one way only... be sure the machinst knows that...

... this is after our dumbass shop instructor (familiar on working with old Detroit iron), exerted over 5000lbs of force on a dinky D16 rod/pin, only to have bits of piston fly all over the place...
