Default What Clutch/Flywheel to use for autocross/roadrace?

Its almost time to replace my clutch. Figure might as wheel get a lighter flywheel also.

The thing is that I do not know much, or anything about clutches.

What Clutch/Flywheel Combo do you guys recommend or use for daily/autocross/roadracing cars?

I'm very happy with my Exedy clutch and flywheel combo. Very nice around town, and it feels great when the going gets 'sporty.'

Edit: This is not considering the rules in Solo2. What class do you run/want to run?

not 100% sure on the clutch, but no flywheel mods allowed in STS. If the clutch is open I'd go with a simple Type-R clutch.

Yup, more or less. You can use a non-OEM clutch as long as the unit has the same specs. as OEM. I'm pretty sure the same holds true with aftermarket flyweels. Lightened flywheels are not allowed.

If it's holding capacity was exactly the same as the stock unit it should be legal.

Id say get a clutch and lsd and move to stx, I kinda wish I had but I went clutch and flywheel and now run street prepared. If you can, get all three.

I hope you know that all STS rules carry over to STX. So if aftermarket clutches aren't allowed in STS, they're not allowed either in STX.

My ACT "Heavy Duty Street" clutch and pressure plate have been awesome for 50K miles, many on track. I will buy another if (when?) this one chits the bed.

For STS clutches have to have the same specs as OEM. Flywheels cannot be changed.
