This is a pretty generic/mild build that we have done plenty o' times. These are only stage 2 cams so p2v clearance is not a concern. To answer your question though, we use a dial indicator to check p2v clearance. I don't like to use clay because in my opinion, it is not as accurate. Another reason I don't use clay is because if it isn't made up of air or fuel...I don't want it in the cylinder
Next you may ask, "If it is such a mild build, then why did you check it at all?"
We check EVERY time in case there is a defect in manufacturing or to make sure that the wrong valve didnt make in in our box.
