Need help in New York
I have a automatic 1989 crx, I gave it a car wash, parked it as usual then went to drive it the next day and it moved 2 feet and stopped, I thought maybe there was something in the wheel or something so I put it in reverse and it want back 2 feet and stopped.
I don't know what the problem is, I'm guessing its the transmission, this is really weird problem the car was driving fine just a few hours ago.
I need somebody to come and take a look at it. The mechanics around here don't know much, the last time I got shocks installed they messed up some wiring and that was another issue.
So if you are from New York and looking for some extra money on the side I will pay you and assist you in anyway possible to get this problem fixed.

wtf, how do they mess up wiring installing shocks? And it's hard to tell without some more info, but yes, sounds like a transmission issue how you describe it. Everything drove fine before this?

First of all thanks for replying.
About the wiring mess, I don't know if I described it correctly, they installed suspension components and then the car was dead the next morning, I asked them what the problem was they told me the alternator, it couldn't have been the alternator because the previous owner bought a new one, so I have the battery changed and it died again and again, I took it to another person and he replaced a wire and it has been working fine ever since, alternator was never bad ^_^
But to get back on topic,
The car was driving fine without no issues whatsoever, well, it used to have some high rpms in the cold, when i used to drive it around and then park it used to rev up from 1500-2000 going up and down up and down sometimes staying at 2000 then going down after a minute but that went away when the warm weather came around. I used to warm up the car so I don't know what that was about. Whats funny is I recently just checked the transmission oil, the previous owner had done a transmission flush and I just wanted to make sure the oil was clean, it was a clear red.
I'm fairly new to cars in general but I'm willing to learn. I don't really have space to work on the car or otherwise I would attempt to change the transmission myself. I'm a diyer, when it comes to other things so why not cars?
Any help would be highly appreciated.
If this is not the right place to post this kind of threat please let me know Thanks to all

I was informed by a friend that it could be the torque converter, that would explain the high rpms. Can anyone confirm?
Any help is appreciated

First, If the idle was jumping up and down or "bouncing", Its a very common problem with honda's. The EACV gets dirty or goes bad!
So your problem now is the car died after you washed it??
Does it start at all now?

Thanks for the response alscrx,
Ok, the car is running fine the only issue is that it does not want to move, well it moves to feet front and 2 feet back(not really 2 feet but 1 full tire rotation), no matter if i put it in neutral and push it or if i drive it back with the car being on. It seems strange to happen so randomly.
About the eacv can you please tell me where it is located and how I can tell if it is bad. Thanks again.

the eacv is on the back of the intake manifold, has a 2pin connector and 2 small coolant hoses going to it
Have you checked your axles to see if you broke one?
