Default clutch problem.. please help

so my clutch just went out on me.. I have a 91 dx with a B16 swap from a 89 crx

my problem is.. when I first got the car the clutch was already on its way out (stock clutch with 80k on it) so I went online and bought an OEM replacement clutch kit from exedy for an 89 crx 1.6

but now that I know a little more about these cars / swaps it looks like the clutch I bought wont work.. (DOHC vs SOHC) Am I right?

would I be able to buy a clutch for a 99-00 SI and bolt that up?

I would appreciate any help guys

thanks

Buy the clutch for whatever transmission you have.

Nope.. depending on what year tranny you have, you may have a hydraulic clutch system.. The 99-00 SI with the b16 is hydraulic..

And the B16A came in JDM honda's, not american honda's.. If you got a clutch for an 89 crx 1.6 liter, then you got one for a D16A6, which is a SOHC motor.. you need to get a clutch from a 94 delsol Si DOHC VTEC with the b16... they still had cable clutches, if I remember correctly...

no I have a cable clutch .. I just called the guy at exedy and he said that They will exchange it (with a 25% restocking fee) and they offer 2 clutch kits for the B16a..

Honda Civic JDM B16A1 Clutch Kit, Y1, S1 Cable Tranny...

and Honda Civic JDM B16A1 Clutch Kit, YS1 Cable Tranny..

it looks like the only difference between the two is the spline diameter.. 1 inch vs 1 1/16 inch

again I have an 89 JDM B16a

I appreciate the input guys

have you looked at the transmission case for the transmission code? i think that's about the only way you'll be able to tell without physically pulling the transmission and measuring the input shaft.

the bottom of the YS1 transmission case has 3 bolts in it that the Y1/S1 do not have, I believe they are 12mm
