Default D16y8 drivetrain problems? need help!

So one night home i started to hear this sound coming from the motor and everytime i pushed the clutch in the sound would go away, sounded like metal rubbing on somthing, so i first thought that it could be my throw out bearing. So when i got time to pull the tranny i did. The throw out looked good, I think. and then i put my finger in the piolt bearing for the fly and it was siezd up. So i thought, ooo thats it so i replaced that, put it all together and turned the car on and it still made that same noise and everytime i pushed the clutch in it stoped. totall repeat. could it be my throw out?

So you didn't replace the throwout bearing the first time out right, you only replaced the pilot?

When you push the clutch in, just as you start to feel tension on it, does the noise go away there? If so, sounds like your throwout bearing.

Rule of thumb, anytime you suspect one bearing of being bad, you might aswell change out both (pilot & throwout) while your in there. Both bearings are usually cheap enough to buy new and adds the extra insurance from having to pull the trans again.
