Default front brake caught fire!

ok so I purchased a car around 3 months ago and did a swap on it etc etc.... So today was my first test drive on it and when I was returning home, the car started slowing down and i smelt the brakes where burning. It was like driving and braking ad the same time. I saw smoke too. The pedal was all the way up and there is no travel at all now...

So I arrived home and I saw that my driver side (front) caliper was on fire. I was like WTF and immediately took the hose and sprayed water because I wont risk my new swap for some rotors/calipers...... I know that I will have to replace my rotors too since they might be warped.........

Since I dont have any experience with the car, I dont know if its the bb, the mc, or the calipers.......

any help?

was the brake fluid leaking? it could be leaking from a caliper seal or hose right on to the super hot rotor making an instant fire, just a guess. get it fixed asap

I dont think it was leaking....

The car drove fine untill the gas station and once I drove on reverse for a second then they got really stuck!

did you change the master cylinder or brake booster? sometimes a abs master with a non abs booster will have problems

well.. If it caught fire, it leaked fluid on the rotor.. You got a f***ed caliper, and disc, and pads.. Autozone has them for, like, 50 bucks..

Dont you guys think that it could be the MC ? I mean i think I also saw the rear calipers smoking too.... I think that the MC is not pulling off the fluid from the lines when the brake pedal is released....

Im gona change the caliper that caught fire, new pads, change the MC and resurface the rotors to see how it goes.....

You got drums in the back, unless you swaped for disc.

Jack the car on all 4, have somone push the brakes with the car on, while you see if the wheels lock up. Then have the person release brakes, and see if any of the wheels are still locked.

If not, just replace ur caliper and pads.
Also resurface the rotor.

it sounds more like the master if all the wheels are locking up, did you mess with the rod inside the booster? I would swap back the stock master and see if anything changes
