Default JDM EF9 BUMPER ON EF SEDAN

I am wondering if I will be able to fit a jdm ef9 front bumper on my 4door. Ive seen them on some sedans, but I want to know if there will need to be some mods i have to do or if it will be able to bolt on with the usdm hood and filler pieces.

Here's a pic of what im trying to do minus the jdm front end:

Good question I've always wondered the same thing. I think you probably need the jdm bumper support but I think it would probably work..

no, from what i hear the "Engrish terms" The Sedan and hatchback bumpers are the same. They bolt on with no issues.

YAY!

So for all those that didn't catch that...the SIR front bumper will indeed fit
a usdm Ef sedan front end.

So does that mean it still requires the EF9 hood, lights, filler piece, etc. in order to not look like crap (just like you have to have on the hatch)????

I don't believe the hood and fenders are necessary, but the filler piece might be. We're only talking about the use of the front bumper, not the complete frontend.
Look-up Xplicit Ef here on HT...he has a brown sedan and is running usdm front/jdm bumper.

Modified by barely4dr at 11:54 AM 5/13/2008</TD></TR></TABLE> For years I've wanted that bumper. For years, I've also been too poor to experiment, no longer!

But here is the question, the Sedan pictured is 88-89, which shares the exact same part number with the USDM 88-89 hatch. Would this work on a 90-91 sedan which DOES NOT share the same part number as the USDM 90-91 hatch? I've always been concerned that the part numbers indicate something different in the mounting.

The ef9 front end is a little more curved where as the usdm sedan front end is more squared. It doesn't look right. IMO it doesn't look right

yes, the bumper support needs to be modded to accomodate the more rounded shape of the Si-R bumper

He's not very active, last i remember that brown sedan got parted out, and his new sedan with a jdm front clip got T-boned in the snow. Not sure what he's up to now.

The hatch filler is not going to work on your sedan, so don't use it.

Also the US bumper supports are really chunky, it would fit alot easier if you removed it and replaced it with the jdm one.
