Here's a pic of my mounting spot for my oil catch can. Notice how the lowest point of the hoses is the red PCV nipple, this is important so you do not accumulate oil in the line (especially if you are not running clear hoses). I traced the lines, GREEN for oil catch can outlet and VIOLET for oil catch can inlet.

Dang, I wish I could change the title of the post.
I would change it to, "Proper way to mount an oil catch can."

Tommy_Gunns what type of oil catch can it that. I mean brand of oil catch can.
Does anyone know will thle Greddy oil catch can fit in the Integra?

Thank you so much for posting this. I have wanted to get an oil catch can for awhile now but could not figure how to mount it. What kind of can is that and did you mount it using stock bolts or did you do some drilling?

Why is your strut tower bar all scratched up?

There is about an inch of clearance between the catch can and the intake manifold. Even if it does hit, there is some give at the top of the can as it is not right against the firewall (about an inch away).
I have not had any problems so far with it mounted there (no rattling, no smacking, no looseness).
I bent some brackets in order to mount them using stock bolts already on the firewall. It is bolted down by the brake master cylinder bolt and to the brake line distribution block (or whatever it is called). It is a Cusco oil catch can.

I bought my car used so beats me why it's all scratched up. Those are hair line scratches that show up on the digi cam, the scratches are not noticeable with the naked eye.

Oh one more thing...
I used to have clear nylon braided hoses but they collapsed from the under hood temps. I have since switched to fuel line (black hose) and some hard clear plastic hose that I found at Home Depot. The reason why I didn't put the clear stuff all the way around is because it is difficult to bend.
My current setup has been through 2 autocross events and there is no signs of collapsing or anything.
I will try to get my hands on some play doh and clay the catch can to see if the intake manifold is hitting it or not.

Sorry, but I thought catchcan were used to replace the valve cover hose that runs into the intake piping? Can anyone explain why it was used for the intake manifold only?
I figured it'd be good to run one for the valve cover since at high rpm, it blows oil vapors (& hot air). In the future, it could leave some buildup in throttle body and intake manifold.
An MR-2 guy told me that its better to run the hose from the valve cover to the intake piping to maintain valve pressure? Not sure if this true.....can anyone share some light to this?

more like the crankcase needs to be vented to prevent excessive pressure from the motor pumping...
those people who cap off the valvecover remains a mystery to me.....
Many race motors still vent the valvecover...most high RPM Hondas ....ie. JUN crate motor sport dual vents above the header (valve cover drilled and tapped for earl's fittings) and they dump into a can....

Oh, I'm running a breather on the valve cover. I have not seen one person yet plug up the valve cover hole. I'm still wondering why someone would use the catchcan on the intake manifold body and the intake manifold runners. Anyone?

You do not want to install the oil catch can between the valve cover and the intake tube, because this supplies FRESH AIR to the crankcase.
So I should connect the hose back from the valve cover to the intake piping?? Or does it not matter? I thought it would be a good idea to this since I've seen old civic intake hose and theres a thin layer of oil on the inside of the piping hose and throttle body.
