Horn and Fuse Location '90 HatchBack
Hi there,
Sorry if this post isn't in the correct model forum, but I am sort of in neverneverland with a 1990 Civic Hatchback Standard 5 speed and figured this is the best one for this model car.
My horn has died and I am wondering where exactly both the actual sounding device is located and where the fuse is too? I couldn't even find the word "horn" in my Chilton book, neither on wiring diagrams or in chassis electrical sections. The fuse box under the dash doesn't have a fuse labeled horn. Is the horn fuse combined with the brake light fuse, located in the engine compartment? I believe my brake lights are working ok. It's a bummer because my inspection sticker just expired on 5/1 too! Thanks!

the actual horn is behind the bumper and in front of the radiator, on the right side.
Once you find it check the to see if the horn is getting power or not.
the horn fuse is under the hood, it should be labeled, is a 20 amp fuse. but if not, if you are on the passenger side looking at the fuse box it will be in the row the farthest to the left, and the 2nd one from the front (from your view)
btw if you want a good manual you need a helm manual.

Thanks for the quick response. Is the "right side" the passenger or driver side? Is it readily accessible from above? Do I have to pull the radiator or get at it from underneath by removing the splash guards? Can you see it just by looking down into the engine compartment? I took a quick look, up there in that area on both sides of the car, but didn't see anything obvious. I know the horn should be a round thingy about the size of a fist, but flatter. Please correct me if I am mistaken on that. Where do the wires run? I didn't check the fuses yet. It's dark out!
I will def. get the voltmeter out once I finally find it to see if it's got juice. Thanks again!
I'll have to check out the Helm manuals.
Cheers,

sorry the horn is on the passenger side, look through the grill.

I guess you could also test the fuse slot instead of the actual horn plug, cause the horn is in a tight spot.
you might have to remove the bumper if you need to get at the horn.
