kyb gr2: thoughts on these shocks.
i found agreat deal on a set of kyb gr2 shocks. the car will mainly be used as a daily driver, weekend autocross/open track car, and i do mess around in the canyons everynow and then.
im just wondering have any of u ever driven on the gr2s..some sourcessay they r merely a replacement oem shock but other sources ive searched say they r an improvement.i know they have a lifetime warranty which is also a plus.
set up is 93 dx. ST front/rear sways, nuespeed race springs. shistreams wrapped in 205 50 15 azenis.
should i go for these shocks on a budget if i am not able to source some koni yellows used or should i just keep lookin and saving? honestly..i dont plan to be making many adjustments, i just need a strong sound functional set of shocks.ive heard lots of bad things aboutthe blues so these r my next option in line. thanks a lot.

I like these shocks a lot. My favourites are Koni adjustables, but these are way cheaper and I know how the KYBs feel, they are pretty nice, and pretty stiff when you want them to be.
this guy im cool with said "yeah just bring it back by the shop ill give em to u for 200 and i know u can put em in yourself but if u want ill do it no charge"..
so..for the price/quality of shocks, my afore mentioned set up, warranty, etc etc..this is a yay or nay call? thanks a lot guys u r a big help.
btw..some say that i have to be careful with my nuespeed race bump/ride wise..but jfyi..i have NEVER had any of the symptoms people complain about with the neus/H&R race springs, even with my stock oem shocks.

I have these on my 88 hatch with H&R race springs. They're good on the street, not the greatest on the track. I couldn't afford Koni's either and my speed shop told me not to bother with Tokico Blue as the spec was the same as the GR-2 and they cost 50% more. I recently bought some used ITR shocks which will replace the GR-2's because my car spends alot of time on the track. They are surely better than OEM and financially, it's not a big gamble, so you might as well go for it.

i think they contribute to the roll! ride quality is pretty good, they're confortable on the street (which is why they're less good on the track)
They are surely better than OEM
When i say they add to roll, i mean in comparison to a proper race setup. They do not add to roll compared to OEM. I meant to say that they contribute to my problem of roll on the track (OEM would contribute even more).

but u said they add to roll? compared to a stock shock, they add to roll? wouldn't they decrease it?

sometimes a softer car is a faster car.........
i was referring to excessive body roll..like a car that wasnt set up proper..or one with some beat on old *** blown shocks ya know?
"what are their faults on the track? did they at least help with roll? hows the ride quality..thanks a lot"

quote me where i said a "good handling car has no body roll"...i just asked..OR WHAT I MEANT...was if it made minimized roll any compared to stock..as in decrease it....i didnt say totally eliminate..just a misunderstanding here..sorry for not being clear..my bad
