i currently have a 96 4door with a y7/z6 with a obd2a-obd1 jumper and stock p28 ecu..

heres the problem..

the car runs fine..vtec hits and pretty much runs fine..until the CEL comes on..when this happens...the car is sluggish from 0-4200 RPMs..then when it hits 4200 rpms..its like vtec kicking in..but it seems to find its power back.. so when i turn the car off.. CEL goes away and the car runs fine up until the CEL comes back..it comes on periodically throughout the day..sometimes doesnt come on at all.but it does come back..

does anyone know what the problem may be..

ive wired all correctly..
vtec solenoid
oil pressure
iacv( removed orange wire and moved the other)..

first step is to pull the code and proceed from there

 

other than getting a obd reader..can i still jump it??? but the thing is..everytime i turn car off and on..the CEL goes away.. can i just roll around with the plug jumped.?? and then when it comes back on..will it start to blink on the dash..while im driving...
