Default headlight hole block off plates.

hi guys, My headlights are busted and now that we don't have to keep them in the car, I want to cover the holes were the headlights used to be. I can think of several different ways to go about doing this but I'm not sure what will be the best or easiest. If anyone has some pictures of their headlight covers I would love to see them.

Get some of those GTX or whatever aftermarket tinted headlight covers. Then just run some little mounting brackets.

edit: looks like AVS makes them? Vent shade branding.

2nd. I'm using the plastic tinted headlight covers with homemade brackets.

How busted are they? If the lens are just cracked, can you put some window tint film on them to hold the lens together? If so, I would do that and gut the headlight.

1 head light is not bad, but the other is totally shattered. I can't seem to find anyone who makes solid headlight lenses for the prelude, just films that go over the headlights. Even the cheap aftermarket headlights go for over $200 on E-bay.

Cheapest option that I can think of is replace the shattered plastic with some scrap plastic from home depot/lowes. Acrylic (sp?) is easily deformable with heat but pretty brittle so I would cover that also with window tint film in addition to the other headlight.

Bent sheetmetal just doesn't look good to me.

Damn that's not too bad, but the EG versions are in the $50-70 range :-/, you can buy a used set of headlights for that price.

I think some of the above posters are running H2, last time I checked we have to retain stock headlights for H2...I just wanted to make sure I'm not missing something here

I'm looking for a suitable replacement for the headlights in my EG, so far I haven't had any luck with sheet metal...it didn't come out all that well.

According to the Rule Addendum, you can now remove/alter the headlights and any associated attaching hardware in H2.

Here is the link:
http://www.nasaforums.com/view...20579

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">10.2 H2 Limited Preparation Vehicles Only

m) Non OEM hoods of unrestricted material are permitted. OEM hood, OEM Trunk, OEM rear hatchback, and OEM bumper supports may have material removed for the purpose of weight removal but must remain in place unless otherwise specified in these rules. Outer-skin of hood and trunk/hatchback must not be altered.

o) <u>Headlights and any associated attaching hardware may be replaced, substituted with any material, or removed. Location may be used to direct air for brake cooling, engine cooling, or air intake only.</u></TD></TR></TABLE>

Yeah, they're a black vinyl film cover, I'm looking into a few different options, as I don't want to destroy the lights that I currently have. I'm trying to lose weight from the car, and taking the headlights out is a little bit of weight.

I think the best option is to use the jdm headlights with the plastic lens and gut those....a little pricey, but I bought mine for about $60 on ebay. The worse shape they're in, the cheaper though

I have my old lens covers that I've used for a couple years you're welcome to have. Just cover shipping. One is cracked and they don't really fit that well. They currently have fake headlight decals so they look almost like they're real headlights. There's a couple pics of them in my garage (link in my sig).

I made mine with some thin giftbox cardboard then traced onto aluminum from my engraving business. They are one piece & cost under ten dollars. A local fabrication shop will have the aluminum 12x24x.025 you will need two pieces. Mine replaced the headlights & turns.
