My amp had more than the stated output when we tested it.

Yay Even the low end amp put out more than it was rated at. They include a 'birth' certificate with each amp that shows how it tested exactly.

In order to give you more than a thumbs up/down ...heres the reasoning.

MTX now sells to bestbuy/futureshop type stores, and have decreased the quality to a LOT of their entry line subs. Their high level subs can bump with the best of them.

So MTX Subs...they can be ok if High end, my personal opinion Sq = SPL =

MTX amps great for rated power, all their lines are well made, stick to the slightly higher end stuff and you'll be quite happy.

MTX has nothing on Alpine, JL, Eclipse, or AudioBahn....go with the good stuff man. Quality cost money

my MTX Thunder 2150x pumped out a lot more power than what the specs said, according to the "birth certificate." too bad it blew up after the warranty expired

The amps are pretty descent for the price. I had a buddy run one of the Thunder 4300 (A few years ago, it was a Class AB) on 12 JL 10's at a load around 1/4 ohm. Of course it ran very hot, but it lasted for over an hour at that load... very impressive.

I would only go with the high-end subs if you're thinking about those. Build quality and power handing is pretty good. When it comes to subs, though, you can get more for your money.

Good stuff for the money.. I've had 2 MTX 4000 series 10's (got stolen) and now 2 6000 series in the factory MTX sealed enclosure, the amps put out a lot of power, more then they state and the subs are quality IMO, and cheaper if you get a deal at Circuit Shitty or something

NAY
what he said
well, i had the mtx 1500dx (aka 500d) when it first came out like 3years ago and havent had a problem with it. the only problem i had with it was i live in vegas and hot summer days would fry the amp and make it cut out for like 10 minutes.
i also had the 304 model 4 channel amp and the distortion level of that amp sucks ***. i turn up the music a little bit and my bostons would distort like crazy. the MTX class D
any other MTX
